American Suds Co. was founded by Andrew and Hannah Smith with a simple goal: make honest, hardworking soap for hard working people.

After getting married in October of 2024, we began building a life centered around faith, family, and creating things with purpose. In 2025, when we found out we were expecting our first child, it opened up an entirely new way of thinking about what goes into — and onto — our bodies every day.

Around that same time, we started purchasing handmade cold process soap. The difference was immediate. The quality, the ingredients, the craftsmanship, and the experience completely changed the way we looked at soap. What started as curiosity quickly turned into countless hours of research, testing, learning, and creating.

Before long, soapmaking became more than just a hobby.

We fell in love with the old-fashioned process of crafting cold process soap by hand — carefully selecting ingredients, blending oils and butters, and creating products built with intention instead of mass production. From the beginning, our mission has been to create rugged, handcrafted soap made with quality ingredients for the hardworking men and women of America.
